'Night trip to Benijo'

Playa Benijo Sunset

Playa Benijo Sunset

One year ago we used to take a nice trip with our friends Emese and Zoli. Before the big lockdown in Tenerife, we tried to steal the night for a photo session on one of the wildest beaches on the island.

Playa Benijo is part of the Anaga Mountain. The beach is not accessible by car, from the parking lot you have to walk down on stairs to the volcanic sandy ocean shore. This part of the island is a wave surf paradise. So many surfers are coming here to catch nice waves.

The natural spirit of the place and the amazing sunsets are attracting many photographers to the beach in the evening hours.

Balint and Zoli took some sunset photos and during the golden hour timelapse the tide crawled closer and closer to our feet. The next wave soaked us to the ankles. after this funny accident, we took some blue hour shots and tried to find the way back to the car. On a wild rocky beach, it’s very challenging, especially in the dark. We climbed over to the rocks but we couldn’t find stairs. It was tricky to find it in the middle of the night but after a few minutes of search, we were on the way up to the parking lot.

After all, we were wet and tired but the trip was amazing. We really enjoyed the view and the time spent with our friends. This beach is unbelievably beautiful. If you are in Tenerife do a trip to the Anaga and check this seashore. And if you accept a piece of advice, take a flashlight with you.

We have big plans with the Anaga Mountain for this year so stay tuned and follow our adventures.
