'The Sheriff of the Leper Town'
Woohoo! Well, this used to be so much fun. Nice people, amazing moody location and a whole bunch of studio equipment. This is what I consider as a good program. A supreme genuine guy, a real masculine character with a unique attitude, Kolos used to be our model for this shooting in the Leper Town next to Abades. Funny fact about the Leper Town that it has never been used. General Franco started the project to build a quarantine in Tenerife for the Spanish people suffering from leper disease. The military forces started the construction, but before it would become ready, and “open” for the sick people, the modern medication found the cure for the leper and a whole town became useless. The construction has been suspended forever. Nowadays it’s belonging to an Italian businessman. As long as it’s private property they closed the road the led us into the middle of the ‘town’. They closed it a couple of mounts later than we used to be there to create these special images. The village/town has an absolutely unique atmosphere and nice to create portraiture inside. It’s reminding us to tombs of the pharaohs, or underground catacombs of an old town. We were able to light it up how we wanted to create the mood. We used our 600Ws Godox studio strobe or withstro, with a Phottixx 122 octobox, to get soft directional light on the face of our model. As a fill light we used a 60x90 softbox with a Godox flash and for the background another one with the Lastolite Joe McNally edition small portable softbox. It was such a lot of fun and an absolutely productive afternoon. I hope you like the images. :)
